Description:

Application of arithmetic in business. Areas of study include review of fractions and decimals, equations, percentage, discounts and pricing, simple and compound interest (present and future value), inventory, depreciation, and installment buying.

Course Requirements:

Orientation: No

Campus Visits: Yes

The first test and final exam are available in the testing center for approximately ten days. All other quizzes and tests are online. If you are outside of the Illinois area, arrangements can be made so you can take the first test and final exam at your location.

We will be using the textbook Practical Business Math Procedures, Ninth Edition (with Homework Manager), by Jeffrey Slater. You can purchase our customized textbook with Homework Manager for about $107 in the CLC bookstore. The customized textbook has about a $50 savings over the full-textbook edition and contains only the chapters we will be covering. You can also purchase an ebook or full textbook edition from the publisher's Web site. You will receive my welcome letter and textbook purchase options listing about a week before our course begins.
