This capstone course not only utilizes the information learned in the courses required for the Small Business Management Certificate, it also provides the opportunity for the student to prepare a business plan. Additional material on taxes, interpersonal skills, customer service, Small Business Administration services, and related small business issues will be presented to ready the student to enter the world of small business.

1. The course is 100% online with no on-campus requirement, and its primary goal is to help you to research and write a feasible business plan.
2. There are two do-it-yourself exams.
3. There is a preliminary business plan to research and write.
4. There is a final business plan to research and write.
5. The deadline to submit the first exam, worth up to 50 points, varies semester to semester.
6. The deadline to submit the second exam, worth up to 50 points,varies semester to semester.
7. The deadline to submit the preliminary business plan, worth up to 40 points, varies semester to semester.
8. The deadline to submit the final business plan, worth up to 60 points,
varies semester to semester.
9. Managing your time and following the course's instructions carefully are perhaps your most important "tips for success" in this online course.

14. This course's other features include a Discussion Board and Grade Book under TOOLS.
15. Checking for important announcements and reminders every Monday is a good idea.
16. Keep a record of your scores for the exams and written assignments. Scores will be sent to the e-mail address from which you sent them, and they will be posted on Blackboard during the the 4th, 8th, 12th, and 16th week of the semester.
17. The grade scale is A = 180 or more points, B = 160 to 179, C = 140 to 159, D = 120 - 139, and F = 0 to 119.
18. The last day to withdraw from this online course with a refund and no grade is Wednesday, September 10, and the last day to withdraw and to receive a "W" grade varies semester to semester.
19. The required text is ENTREPRENEURSHIP (4e) by Lambing and Kuehl.
20. If you use your CLC e-mail account, you'll receive important Special Delivery announcements and reminders.
21. Due to the nature of online teaching and learning, an "I/complete" grade is not an option in this course.

23. Business Plans and other assignments received after their published deadlines will receive no points.

25. If you plan to discontinue participating in this online course at anytime during the semester, it is strongly recommended that you take responsibility for withdrawing from the course. Grades of "W" will only be assigned to students who withdraw themselves.
